CLONDALKIN, DUBLIN
Clondalkin is a small suburb located about six miles (9.6 km) west of Dublin City, in county South Dublin, Ireland.
Clondalkin is houses an 8th century round tower, that is a major landmark for the area. It as well known for being one of the oldest, and best preserved in Ireland.
Clondalkin is nowadays a busy satellite town of Dublin city, with a population of approximately forty six thousand.
Large stores include Dunnes Stores shopping centres and Tesco Ireland. Also nearby, are Aldi and Lidl stores.
The town centre is used as a base for small businesses, these include hairdressers, pharmacies, solicitors, pubs and restaurants.
Clondalkin is home to a branch of South Dublin Libraries, in a structure which used to be home to a Carnegie library.
Ther is also a post office in the village and also some excellent schools including Coláiste Bríde, Moyle Park College, Coláiste Chilliain, Scoil Nano Nagle and Talbot S.N.S.
