COUNTY DUBLIN GUIDE
County Dublin (also known as Dublin Region) is the region that Dublin city is located. Dublin city is the capital city of the Republic of Ireland. The regional authority is known as the Dublin regional authority.
Dublin is in the province of Leinster close to the Irish sea. The coastline of Dublin county has many Bays and creeks, the best known is Dublin bay. The river Liffey actually flows into Dublin bay. there are many small islands which are part of Dublin county.
Dublin county is important to the fishing Industry, particularly Haddock, Cod and Salmon catches. The county is also important to the farming Industry, with many farms located in the region. The production Industry is heavily dependant on the capital city of Dublin.
Back in the mid-eighties, the county was split into 3 electoral areas, these are Laoghaire-Rathdown, Dublin-Belgard and Dublin-Fingal.
