DONAGHMEDE, DUBLIN
Donaghmede is a suburb located to the North of Dublin,in Ireland. The distance from Dublin to Donaghmede is about six miles (ten kilometres).
Donaghmede is situated in the city coucil area of Dublin area, near the border of the county council of Fingal. It lies close to Baldoyle, Raheny, and Kilbarrack. Where it joins Coolock, is the Clare Hall housing, which is part of both districts.
There is a train station at Donaghmede, Howth junction, which is on the Dart to Howth/Malahide line. Northern Donaghmede rail station is served by the station at Grange Road.
Donaghmede was not a village absorbed by suburban life, unlike a lot of suburbs of Dublin. It used to be an area of farmland, with several large houses and attendant's cottages but none of the original large houses now exist.
