HOWTH

Howth is a yachting and fishing port.located on the North part of Howth Head, 15km approximately 9 (14.4) miles North East of the city.

The attractions at Howth are fairly obvious to the visitor especially at the coast. Howth

Howth Head has beautiful views of the Wicklow Mountains and Dublin Bay. At the bay, lies the rocky bird sanctuary and the monastic island and there are boat trips are provided during the summer.

There are coastal cliff paths that lead around the coast and passes through the village of Howth. There is a ruined abbey, and also en route is Baily Lighthouse.

Howth Castle is a fifteenth century building, which is partially ruined, and has rhododendron gardens.

There is a transport museum which is located close to the DART railway station.

Howth has a well known open-topped tram housed at the museum. Howth's hotels and fish restaurants and pubs, make it a very enjoyable visit from Dublin city.
