Kilmainham is a suburb of Dublin city in Ireland. It is located to the West of Dublin city centre and to the the South of the River Liffey, in the postal district of Dublin eight.
Kilmainham is famous KIlmainham Gaol, where several of the Easter Rising Leaders were executed.
It is also well known for the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, which was built on the site of the priory of the Knights of St John of Jerusalem.
