KNOCKLYON
Knocklyon is a suburb of Dublin city in Ireland. It situated South West of Dublin and North of the Dublin Mountains.
The area is fairly new and is independent of its neighbourbouring ares of Templeogue, Firhouse and Rathfarnham. Knocklyon was not, until recently named as a separate area on local maps. The area postcode for Knocklyon is Dublin sixteen.
Knocklyon is situated mostly to the East of the M50 motorway, and has residential housing, including Beverly, Idrone, the Delaford and many more housing estates.
The main shopping area for the local community is the area, comprises of the local post office, a Superquin supermarket, and the Catholic Parish church.
Knocklyon has several open spaces within the residential estates, including playing pitches for Knocklyon United Football Club and Ballyboden St Enda's GAA.
There is also the South Dublin model railway club and a scout group, which both have their own dedicated premises.
