LUCAN
Lucan is a suburban town located to the west of Dublin, in Souther ireland. It lies about thirteen kilometres (8.1 miles) from Dublin city centre.
Lucan is located at the confluence of the Rivers Griffeen and Liffey. This attractive old town holds onto it's character, despite having new areas of housing, that are obvious overspill developments, for nearby Dublin city.
The new housing areas lead East from Lucan, leading to theLiffey Valley Shopping Centre, and South East leading to Clondalkin.
Lucan village is situated North of the M4/N4 West/North West motorways. To the South, of Lucan is the N7/M7 South/South West motorway. Lucan lies about five kilometres West of the M50 Dublin ring road.
Lucan is also situated between 2 large railway lines. Adamstown train station was re-opened recently to serve the town. It is situated South of Finnstown, Lucan.
Adamstown train station will also service other developments, planned to the South of Adamstown and the South West/South commuter line.
Dublin Bus has a number of bus services to Lucan, including the 67/A/X, 66/A/B/X and the 25/A/X. There are also Feeder routes including the 239 from the Liffey valley shopping centre to Blanchardstown.
There are also Nitelink services provided by Dublin Bus with the 25N serving South Lucan. There are also a number of independent bus operators serving Lucan.
