Malahide is a coastal town located near Dublin city. The town has more of a village feeling to it, with very large residential areas to the North West. West and South.
Malahide is located about ten miles (16 kilometres) North of Dublin city centre, lying between Portmarnock Swords, and Kinsealy. The town is located on the Broadmeadow estuary, on the other side of Donabate.
Malahide is served by the DART and
the train, organised by Irish Rail. There are also bus routes to
and from Dublin, including no.42 and 32a, which are day-time routes.
There is also a night link, the 42N serves Malahide
from
Dublin

and bus no 102 serves local areas.

Malahide village has a large range of services and retail facilities, including hair and beauty salons, fashion boutiques,and a shopping centre.
There are many attractive cobbled side streets, which give the village a welcoming feel to the town. There are many pubs and restaurants and a large Grand Hotel.
There is a very old covered well (St. Sylvester's) on the old main street.
Malahide also has a
very large and attractive marina, located near the town.
