PORTOBELLO, DUBLIN
Portobello is an area stretching from the West, from South Richmond Street to Upper Clanbrassil street, near Dublin. It lies in the postal district of Dublin 8.
Today, community groups meet in Heytesbury Street, , Bloomfield Avenue and St. Kevin's Hall. There is a market held once a month, located near the Bernard Shaw pub on Richmond Street.
The area at Portobello Harbour, is used as a leisure area, regularley used for skateboarding.
Nearby is Portobello College, and around the corner there are many shops, pubs and restaurants.
The golden mile area is an area consisting of bars and venues used for music.South Richmond Street is part of this area, which leads to Dublin city centre.
