RINGSEND, DUBLIN
Ringsend is a suburb of Dublin city, in Ireland. It is located on the South side of the city, on the South Bank of the River Liffey.
It lies approximately 2KM (1.25 miles) to the East of Dublin city centre, and is also the South Terminus for the East Link Toll Bridge.
With the recent economic growth of Dublin and Ireland since the ninetees, Ringsend became a popular area for young adults and students. Because of the Grand Canal Dock project, there has been a rapid growth in this location.
Ringsend is home to the famous Windmill Lane Studios, where many popular Irish bands have recorded there, including The Chieftains and U2. The studio has actually relocated to another area, but retained the name.
