SKERRIES
Skerries is a seaside town in North County Dublin, Ireland. The town, these days has become part of County Fingal. The name 'Skerries' originally comes from the word Skere (Norse) which later become Skerry, meaning a small group of coastal islands.

Skerries has been a busy fishing port over the years,and also an important center for hand embroidery. During the late 1900's, Skerries became a resort town for motor cycling sailing and golf. It has also become a suburb for commuters to Dublin city.

Skerries Mills was refurbished recently, by Fingal County Council as a tourist attraction. There are a couple of fully restored and working windmills, as well as a museum, watermill and coffee shop.
Skerries has witnessed a huge growth in property prices during the late
nineties and early twenty first century.
There is an amusement park in Skerries, situated close to the beach.
